Palacký University Olomouc advances AI and research initiatives

Palacký University Olomouc is advancing several academic and social initiatives involving artificial intelligence and research excellence. Through the AURORA seizmic KIC project, students from the Faculty of Philosophy are working to connect entrepreneurial ideas with the needs of social enterprises in the Olomouc region. This initiative aims to use AI to solve social problems, support sustainable production, and create employment opportunities for disadvantaged individuals.

Simultaneously, researchers from the Cyril and Methodius Faculty of Theology have applied for prestigious European Research Council (ERC) Starting Grants. The projects include Eduard Fiedler’s study on the metaphysics of Kurt Gödel and Lukáš Novák’s project, DYNAMOOD, which seeks to train artificial intelligence to test theories of depression. These five-year research proposals represent efforts to compete at the highest levels of European frontier research.
