Palacký University Starts Summer Bohemistics School for Czech Teachers

The Faculty of Philosophy at Palacký University in Olomouc is hosting a three‑day Summer School of Bohemistics, aimed primarily at teachers of Czech language and literature. The program combines lectures, seminars and workshops covering topics such as Czech transitional forms, contemporary poetry, the historical novel, strategic communication and presentation skills.

Key speakers include docent Božena Bednaříková on Czech transitional constructions, Erik Gilk on changes in the historical novel, professor Ingeborg Fialová on Brno German literature, Eva Marková on recent trends in Czech poetry, Michal Sýkora on 1960s Czech detective fiction, Soňa Schneiderová on negotiation versus extortion, and Michaela Kopečková on effective visual presentation techniques.

The event marks the eleventh edition of the Summer School, building on ten successful previous years as an established platform for sharing the latest research in Czech philology and fostering practical teaching approaches.
