Palacolosimo venue sees strategic rise through major cultural events

The Palacolosimo fairground in Catanzaro is seeing increased strategic importance through major cultural events. The venue is scheduled to serve as a parking area for the Jovanotti concert at the Calabria Music Arena on August 22.

Mayor Nicola Fiorita highlighted the revitalization of the facility, which had previously functioned as a pandemic vaccine hub. Since its reopening in 2025, the complex has hosted various exhibitions such as Home Expo and Materia, attracting thousands of visitors and supporting local hospitality and catering sectors. Fiorita has called on the Calabria Region to provide further support to ensure the venue remains a modern engine for regional development, with events already programmed through 2027.

In a separate musical highlight in the region, the band Pooh is performing at the Teatro al Castello in Roccella Jonica as part of their ‘Pooh 60 – La nostra storia – Estate’ tour. The concert celebrates six decades of the band's career, featuring a setlist of hits spanning from the 1960s to the present.
