PalAcqua swimming facility to open in Pontedera

PalAcqua Pontedera swimming facility Ginevra Taddeucci PNRR funds

The PalAcqua swimming facility in Pontedera is scheduled for its inauguration ceremony on Saturday, September 12. The project was realized through an investment exceeding 5 million euros using PNRR funds.

Olympic and world champion open-water swimmer Ginevra Taddeucci will attend the event as the guest of honor, accompanied by her coach Giovanni Pistelli. Other attendees include Pontedera Mayor Matteo Franconi and representatives from the Italian Swimming Federation.

The facility features a 25-meter pool with eight lanes and spectator stands. Designed with sustainability in mind, the structure utilizes photovoltaic panels for energy efficiency. Following the inauguration and a week of competitive testing, the center will officially open to the public for recreational swimming on Monday, September 21.
