PalaDozza celebrates 70 years of basketball with anniversary events

Bologna’s PalaDozza arena will host basketball games on September 12 to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the venue. The event marks the anniversary of the first official match held at the arena on September 12, 1956, when the Italian national team defeated Poland 70-54.

As part of the celebrations, Fortitudo Bologna will play a friendly match against Libertas Livorno. The anniversary program also includes cultural events, such as the presentation of Enrico Schiavina’s book, ‘L’ombelico del basket’, at the Museo del Basket Italiano (MUBIT).

Additional festivities include a documentary screening dedicated to Carlo Recalcati, the former national team coach and player, coinciding with his 81st birthday. A special commemorative sticker by Figurine Forever will also be released at the MUBIT bookshop.
