Spanish towns roll out summer festivals and community activities

Municipalities across Spain are launching a series of free summer cultural programmes. In Palafrugell, the "Tardes de jocs moderns en família" will run from June to October, offering board‑games such as Catan, Carcassonne and Sushi Go in local social centres without prior registration. Punta Umbría’s Open Summer 2026 (June 19‑21) expands its line‑up to include concerts, a video‑game fair and activities in El Portil, aiming to boost tourism and support local hospitality businesses. Usera (Madrid) will host a ten‑day fiesta from June 19 to 28, featuring concerts by Obús and José Mercé, fireworks, sports and children’s programmes in neighbourhood parks. The Province of Palencia presents the Allegrissimo 26 festival, a schedule of 155 events in 114 towns from July 1 to 23, ranging from folk concerts to micro‑theatre. Miranda de Ebro’s summer dances begin on June 27, offering free nightly music in Plaza de España throughout July and August. Cádiz’s Orgullo de Cadi Cadi 2026 runs from June 26 to July 5, with flag‑raising, concerts, drag shows and a special appearance by presenter Toñi Moreno as pregonera. In Chile, the municipality of Rinconada prepares a free winter‑vacation programme (June 22‑July 3) with sports, arts and a FIFA 2026‑themed activity.

These initiatives aim to foster community participation, promote cultural tourism, and provide inclusive recreation for residents of all ages.
