Palais de la Porte Dorée to host inaugural Maillage literary festival

The Palais de la Porte Dorée will host the inaugural edition of Maillage, a new literary festival running from September 25 to 27. The event aims to explore themes of migration, exile, memory, and identity through a multidisciplinary program including writers, poets, illustrators, and artists.

Mohamed Mbougar Sarr, the 2021 Prix Goncourt winner, serves as the guest of honor. The festival is set to take place in a location of historical significance, as the Palais de la Porte Dorée was built for the 1931 International Colonial Exposition and currently houses the National Museum of the History of Immigration.

The program is designed to be transversal, moving beyond traditional book readings to include music, workshops, and live performances, such as the Hazara Blues project which combines literature with live drawing and readings in French and Persian.
