Palakkad police seize 1 kg of MDMA and arrest three suspects
A joint operation by the Palakkad North Police and the District Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force (DANSAF) resulted in the seizure of approximately 1 kg of MDMA and the arrest of three individuals at Olavakkode Junction. The operation was conducted as part of the Onam Special Drive to combat drug trafficking.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Muhammad Nisil of Kottayam, and Karnataka residents Muhammad Azharudeen and his wife, B. Fathima. Authorities reported that the investigation began after tracking a suspected trafficking network for three days, gaining a lead from an individual carrying ganja at a railway station.
Police intercepted a suspected financier in a luxury vehicle in the Olavakkode Thanaavu area, which provided information to trace a narcotics consignment traveling from the Kuniyambuthur area of Tamil Nadu. After attempting to evade surveillance by changing routes, the suspects' vehicle was intercepted at Olavakkode Junction. In addition to MDMA, police recovered cocaine, brown sugar, LSD stamps, and hybrid ganja.
