Palamós Local Police face collapse as officers stop overtime

The Central Sindical Independent i de Funcionaris (CSIF) has warned of a collapse within the Palamós Local Police due to deteriorating working conditions. The union announced that officers have decided to stop working overtime to protest ongoing issues.

According to the union, psychosocial risks identified in a 2022 assessment remain unresolved and have worsened. Reported issues include staff shortages, shift rotations, and increased medical leave related to anxiety and stress, which are already impacting service coverage.

CSIF is also demanding that the Palamós City Council comply with court rulings regarding the payment of bonuses and night shift compensation. The union stated that public service vocation should not be used to justify salary cuts or excessive workloads, and they are calling for real negotiations to resolve the conflict.
