Palantir awarded $48.1 million U.S. Army contract for ammunition management

The U.S. Army has awarded a $48.1 million firm-fixed-price contract to Palantir USG Inc. to modernize its enterprise-level ammunition tracking and management systems. The project aims to consolidate nine disparate legacy platforms into a single, authoritative software system to streamline processes and improve data consistency.

The new platform will provide a unified view of ammunition assets throughout their entire lifecycle. Key technical requirements include the ability to integrate data from various existing systems, provide robust planning and forecasting models, and support tactical users operating in disconnected or low-bandwidth environments. The contract includes a 12-month base period for development and fielding, with options for up to five additional years of support and optimization.
