Palantir Technologies reports surging revenue and massive defense contract growth
Palantir Technologies has reported significant financial growth and expansion in its role as a major defense contractor. In the second quarter of 2026, the company generated $1.94 billion in revenue, achieving a net profit margin of 55 cents for every dollar collected. This represents a substantial increase from the 33% net margin reported a year prior. Revenue grew 93% year-over-year, driven largely by surging demand for artificial intelligence software and a 149% increase in U.S. commercial revenue.
The company has also solidified its position within the U.S. defense sector, surpassing $1 billion in U.S. government contracts for fiscal year 2026. Key developments include a $10 billion, 10-year Enterprise Agreement with the U.S. Army and a central role in the Pentagon’s Maven AI targeting platform.
Institutional investor interest is also rising, with professional investors now holding approximately 45.65% of Palantir’s outstanding shares. Notable holders include Norges Bank, which maintains a position valued at approximately $5.15 billion, and Cornerstone Advisors. Following these results, Palantir raised its full-year 2026 revenue guidance to a range between $8.15 billion and $8.158 billion.
