Palanzo hosts 51st Sagra del Torchio festival in October

The 51st edition of the Sagra del Torchio in Palanzo, located near Lake Como, is scheduled for October 11, 2025. Organized by the Associazione Amici del Torchio di Palanzo, the event celebrates local agricultural history through the demonstration of a historic press.

Built in 1572, the national monument is a large-scale piece of rural engineering featuring a 12-meter chestnut beam and a 5-meter worm screw. During the festival, the press will be operational, allowing visitors to witness grape pressing and taste the resulting juice. The site also includes a granite mill used historically for processing walnuts into oil.
