Palavas-les-Flots double murder investigation launched

A double murder occurred on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, in an Airbnb apartment located in Palavas-les-Flots, near Montpellier. The victims were reportedly killed with knives.

The perpetrator fled the scene after jumping from a first-floor balcony, landing on a parked car. Despite being injured and bleeding, the suspect managed to escape. Gendarmerie helicopters have been deployed to search the surrounding area.

Montpellier Prosecutor Thierry Lescouarc'h confirmed that an investigation into the homicide has been opened.
