Palazzo Blu to host major Edward Hopper exhibition in Pisa
Palazzo Blu in Pisa will host a major exhibition titled ‘Edward Hopper: New York e oltre’ from October 14, 2026, to March 7, 2027. The exhibition features over 150 works, including oil paintings, drawings, watercolors, and etchings, all sourced from the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York.
This is the first exhibition in Italy to trace the entirety of Hopper's life and career through the key locations that shaped his work: Paris, New York, and New England. The collection includes notable pieces such as ‘Queensborough Bridge’ (1913), ‘Soir Bleu’ (1914), and ‘Cape Cod Sunset’ (1934), alongside archival materials.
To provide broader context, the exhibition will also present works by Hopper's contemporaries, such as Robert Henri, John Sloan, and Paul Strand, situating his exploration of modern solitude and light within the wider landscape of early 20th-century American art.
