Palazzo dei Diamanti hosts art exhibition in Ferrara
The Palazzo dei Diamanti in Ferrara has launched a new art exhibition titled ‘Da Monet a Van Gogh a Kandinsky’. Running until January 10, 2027, the exhibition explores eighty years of art history, specifically focusing on how the representation of nature evolved between the 19th and 20th centuries.
The showcase features approximately 120 works, including paintings, drawings, and engravings. Many pieces are sourced from the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam, alongside contributions from various Italian public and private collections. Curated by Sandra Kisters and Vasilij Gusella, the exhibition is organized into nine sections that trace the transition from direct natural representation to more personal, abstract interpretations of reality.
Prominent artists featured in the exhibition include Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, Wassily Kandinsky, Piet Mondrian, Gustave Courbet, Camille Pissarro, Auguste Renoir, Edgar Degas, Paul Gauguin, and Pablo Picasso. The collection documents the shift from tradition to modernity and the birth of the avant-garde through changing concepts of space, color, and form.
