Palazzo Sacchetti: Architect Massimo Adario's Roman residence

Architect Massimo Adario and his partner Dimitri Borri have transformed an apartment within Rome’s historic Palazzo Sacchetti into a residence that blends art, design, and history. Located on Via Giulia, the palace was originally built in the mid-16th century for Cardinal Giovanni Ricci da Montepulciano and later passed to the Sacchetti family.

The architecture of the palace is noted for its Florentine influence and rigorous proportions, distinguishing it from the more exuberant Baroque style common in Rome. Historically, the site has hosted notable artists such as Pietro da Cortona and Nicolas Poussin. The apartment itself spans two levels, featuring silk-lined walls, painted wooden ceilings, and contemporary furnishings that interact with marble flooring.
