Ascoli Piceno inaugurates Palazzo Saladini Pilastri amid political debate
In Ascoli Piceno, the inauguration of the restored Palazzo Saladini Pilastri, attended by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, has sparked political debate. The project, costing approximately 39 million euros and funded through PNRR and Sisma funds, involves the recovery of 9,000 square meters of space, including an Italian garden and the Sant’Egidio church. The site is intended to host social services, an ethical hotel, and a healthcare hub.
The Partito Democratico (PD) has criticized the event, alleging that the civic significance of the restoration was overshadowed by political propaganda and institutional mobilization intended to bolster the government's leadership.
Other regional developments include the opening of the Calopinace bridge in Reggio Calabria, an infrastructure project completed by the current administration that had faced long delays under previous leadership. In Cuneo, the Prefecture and Confartigianato are launching a major exhibition combining contemporary art and local craftsmanship, featuring works by Valerio Berruti and music by Marlene Kuntz. Additionally, in Salerno, concerns have been raised regarding necessary corrective works at the recently inaugurated Racinaro underpass.
