Palazzo Sansedoni and Verceia’s Galleria di Mina open to the public

The Fondazione Monte dei Paschi di Siena will host free, reservation‑only guided tours of Palazzo Sansedoni in Siena on 10‑12 August 2026 at 11:00, in partnership with Vernice Progetti Culturali. The three‑day opening coincides with the week of the Palio dell’Assunta and offers visitors a chance to explore the historic noble residence and view the foundation’s art collection.

In the Lombardy town of Verceia, the Galleria di Mina – a World‑War‑I underground tunnel built between 1916 and 1917 – will welcome visitors throughout 2026. Guided tours run from 10:00 to 17:00 every half hour on selected dates (Easter, Pasquetta, 25 April, 1 May, 2 June, 15 August and all Sundays) for a €4 fee. The site, once designed to destroy road and rail links in a northern invasion, now serves as a museum preserving the tunnel’s original chambers, explosives wells and defensive architecture.
