Palácio dos Duques de Cadaval hosts India-Portugal cultural exhibition

The Palácio dos Duques de Cadaval in Évora is hosting an exhibition exploring the historical and cultural dialogue between Portugal and India. Running until October 26, the showcase features more than 90 works that aim to move beyond Eurocentric narratives and exoticism to explore the present-day connections between the two nations.

The exhibition highlights the radical plurality between tribal and urban elements, focusing on the spiritual dimension through contemporary tantric art. This art form reinterprets spiritual symbols and concepts of tantrism through highly symbolic figurative compositions, linking aesthetic experience with meditation and cosmic energy. Among the featured works are paper paintings by Acharya Vyakul.
