Palembang optimizes waste supply for PSEL energy facility

The Palembang City Government is focusing on securing a steady waste supply for the Waste-to-Energy (PSEL) facility in the Keramasan area, Kertapati. Following the initial combustion on September 23, 2026, the local Environmental Agency has been redirecting waste from the Sukawinatan landfill to the PSEL facility since September 1.

Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan recently inspected the site alongside Palembang Mayor Ratu Dewa. The city is currently optimizing waste collection fleets and weighing processes to ensure the facility has sufficient raw material for the commissioning phase and ongoing electricity production.
