Palencia hosts conference on rural fire management and volunteerism

The Fundación Democracia y Gobierno Local and the Diputación de Palencia have organized a conference to discuss the management of rural fires, focusing on the balance between professional firefighting and volunteerism.

The event included the presentation of a new book, ‘La gestión de los incendios rurales’, which is the 50th volume in the ‘Serie Claves del Gobierno Local’. The study, developed by a group of experts, addresses critical issues such as jurisdictional distribution, budgetary impacts of firefighting regulations, staff stabilization, and the legal and operational frameworks required to ensure the safety and sustainability of volunteerism in rural Spain.
