The Asociación Descubre Palencia has launched six new thematic routes designed to showcase the natural, cultural, and gastronomic diversity of the Palencia province in Spain. These itineraries span from the northern mountains to the southern Cerrato region, guided by local experts to provide authentic experiences.
Key highlights include the Northern Zone and Montaña Palentina, which features the Cañón de la Horadada, the Las Loras Geopark, and Aguilar de Campoo. This area also includes the ‘Camino Olvidado’, an ancient Jacobite route suitable for cycling. Another route, ‘Herrera y el Agua’, focuses on the Páramos y Valles region, utilizing the historic Canal de Castilla as a central feature. The canal offers flat towpaths that are ideal for cycling and allow travelers to explore the landscape away from heavy traffic.
