Palencia Mayor Miriam Andrés criticizes PSOE leadership

Miriam Andrés, the Mayor of Palencia, has publicly expressed her disagreement with the national leadership of the PSOE. The dispute follows the decision by the party's national headquarters in Madrid to impose María Luz Martínez Seijo as the top candidate for the Congress list in Palencia.

Andrés stated that this decision disregarded the choice of the local party membership. Through her official X account, she criticized the move, suggesting that the voice of the militants had been ignored and sarcastically remarking, “Long live internal democracy!”

Andrés, a lawyer with experience as a provincial deputy and senator, has previously shown independence from the current party leadership, including intervening against official lines during the Federal Committee in June.
