Palencia to host international patatas bravas competition

The seventh edition of the International Patatas Bravas Competition will take place on September 28 in Palencia. Eighteen recipes will compete to be named the best in the world.

The judging panel includes Michelin-starred chef Álvaro Hinojal and Soria-based chef Elena Lucas, alongside five gastronomic journalists and previous winner Javier Alfaro. The final will be held at the Hotel Rey Sancho, featuring live preparation of the recipes before an audience and the media.

Álvaro Hinojal noted that while the dish appears simple, it requires impeccable technical precision regarding frying and sauce balance.
