Palermo announces fourth Acchianata delle Rosalie festival
The fourth edition of the Acchianata delle Rosalie has been presented in Palermo, marking the traditional celebration of the feast day of Santa Rosalia on September 4. The event, which blends religious devotion with art and music, was introduced at Palazzo Palagonia by Mayor Roberto Lagalla and Municipal Councilor for Culture Antonio Rini.
Starting at 8:00 PM on Friday, the festivities will move through four stations: Giglio alle falde, Ginestre alla panoramica, Rose al Santuario, and Stelle al Belvedere. Over one hundred artists specializing in music, theater, singing, and storytelling will participate in the procession.
In addition to the evening celebrations, a non-competitive social cycling event called 'Salita di tutti' will take place along Monte Pellegrino, starting at 6:00 PM from the Statua della Libertà in Piazza Vittorio Veneto and ending at the Belvedere. Officials noted that the event aims to connect local traditions with a broader cultural appeal for both residents and tourists.
