Palermo commemorates Father Giuseppe Puglisi's martyrdom

Palermo is observing the 33rd anniversary of the martyrdom of Father Giuseppe Puglisi, known as ‘3P’ or Don Pino, who was killed by the mafia on September 15, 1993. The Diocese has organized a series of meetings, prayers, and testimonies at locations significant to his life.

Born in the Brancaccio district in 1937, Puglisi dedicated his ministry to working with youth and mediating local conflicts. Notably, during his eight years in Godrano, he successfully facilitated reconciliation between feuding families. A commemorative Mass will be presided over by Cardinal Domenico Battaglia at the Palermo Cathedral.
