Palermo faces delays in Borgo Nuovo waste collection services

In Palermo, the implementation of door-to-door waste collection in the Borgo Nuovo district remains uncertain. Despite previous announcements by the Municipality and RAP suggesting a start by spring 2026, and later a revised target of September 2026, officials are still evaluating a new organizational methodology.

Furthermore, the Municipal Collection Center (CCR) intended for the neighborhood is currently stalled due to issues in relations with the IACP. There are also concerns regarding the potential loss of funds previously allocated for the construction of the CCR infrastructure.
