Palermo FC disputes 2.5 million euro tax claim with municipality

Palermo FC and the Municipality of Palermo are engaged in a financial dispute involving approximately 2.5 million euros in unpaid taxes. The claims from the municipality cover Imu, Tari, and advertising taxes accrued between 2020 and 2026.

The municipality is seeking over 1 million euros in advertising taxes, more than 416,000 euros in Imu (with potential increases due to interest and penalties), and over 1 million euros in Tari. In response, Palermo FC is reviewing the claims through consultants to check for calculation errors, statutes of limitations, and potential misattributions to other entities.

Simultaneously, the football club is seeking reimbursements exceeding 2 million euros from the municipality for maintenance work performed on the Renzo Barbera Stadium.
