Palermo FC submits financial plan for Renzo Barbera Stadium redevelopment
Palermo FC has submitted an updated economic and financial plan to the Municipality of Palermo for the redevelopment of the Renzo Barbera Stadium. This project is a critical component of the city's candidacy to host matches for Euro 2032.
The updated plan indicates a total financial requirement of 382.1 million euros, an increase from the previously estimated 330 million euros for initial investments. The project involves the demolition and reconstruction of four major stadium areas, including the West, East, North, and South stands. The redevelopment aims to create a fully covered stadium with a capacity of 38,152 spectators and expanded spaces for hospitality, commercial activities, and events.
Construction is scheduled to begin in June 2027, with an estimated completion and full operational date of February 1, 2030. The plan proposes a 90-year concession with an annual fee of 800,000 euros. Additionally, the club expects to increase non-matchday revenue to approximately 14.5 million euros per year through various commercial activities and events.
