Palermo identified as top contender for Serie B dominance

Football experts Davide Ballardini and Giorgio Perinetti have identified Palermo as a primary contender for dominance in Serie B.

Ballardini, the former Palermo coach, noted that Palermo, alongside Cremonese, Verona, and Pisa, possesses one of the most competitive rosters in the league. He emphasized that Palermo holds an advantage over teams recently relegated from Serie A because the club is already well-acquainted with the specific difficulties of the second division. He also identified Padova, Modena, and Avellino as secondary teams to watch.

Sporting director Giorgio Perinetti echoed this sentiment, stating that Palermo is “destined to dominate the championship.” He highlighted the club's recent reinforcement with Mazzitelli and viewed their recent draw as a non-negative result given the absence of several starters. In contrast, Perinetti expressed skepticism regarding Sampdoria’s technical project, describing them as a team lacking technical content.
