Palermo police detain three suspects in fatal Zen district stabbing

Authorities in Palermo have detained three suspects, including two 16-year-olds and a 33-year-old man, in connection with the fatal stabbing of 45-year-old Vito Genovese in the Zen 2 district. The incident occurred near a family garage on via Costante Girardengo.

Investigators believe the victim confronted the group, suspecting a potential theft, which led to a violent confrontation. The suspects allegedly used a screwdriver and a helmet to attack Genovese, resulting in his death. A 47-year-old man who attempted to intervene was also wounded during the assault.

The 33-year-old suspect, who was already under house arrest, faces charges of voluntary homicide, attempted homicide, and evasion. The two minors have been transferred to a juvenile detention center. The investigation, coordinated by the Palermo Prosecutor's Office, continues to examine technical evidence and surveillance footage.
