Palermo center-right coalition launches political vision for 2027

The center-right coalition in Palermo has begun outlining its political vision for the city ahead of the 2027 local elections. Through the ‘Palermo Capitale’ initiative, promoted by Fratelli d’Italia deputy Carolina Varchi, a series of technical tables have been established at Villa Filippina to address eight key areas: family and community, tourism, economic development, culture, mobility, security and legality, urban regeneration, and sport.

During the launch, Varchi emphasized that her focus is on political projects rather than personal ambition, stating, “I do not cultivate personal ambitions but political projects.” Current Mayor Roberto Lagalla was also present, signaling his intent to seek a second term and continue the work started during his current administration.

Separately, Anci Sicilia held a meeting at Palazzo Comitini for the presidents of municipal councils in the province of Palermo. The discussion focused on the role of council presidencies in ensuring local democratic life and the implementation of a new regional regulation regarding symbolic bicolour sashes for council presidents.
