Palermo Mayor Roberto Lagalla expresses availability for re-election

Palermo Mayor Roberto Lagalla has expressed his availability to run for re-election, citing a desire for continuity to complete ongoing administrative work. During a press conference at Palazzo Palagonia, Lagalla noted that while he seeks political confirmation, he believes continuing his current term is a natural progression for the city.

Lagalla also commented on the regional leadership, suggesting that Sicilian President Renato Schifani is well-positioned for re-election due to improvements in the region's financial stability.

Regarding urban development, the organization Sinalp Sicilia has reacted positively to the Mayor's announcement that funding for major infrastructure projects will be secured through new channels. These projects include interventions at the Oreto mouth, Villa Turrisi Park, and the former Vergine Maria landing site. Sinalp emphasized that securing these resources is vital to prevent the loss of important works and to combat economic decline and population loss in Sicily.
