Palermo minor reported for vandalizing Pope Francis commemorative panels
Carabinieri in the Brancaccio district of Palermo have reported a minor for damaging commemorative panels in the Beato Giuseppe Puglisi square. The panels depict moments from Pope Francis’s 2018 visit to the museum dedicated to the priest, who was killed by the mafia in 1993.
During the intervention, authorities discovered the minor was in possession of a seven-centimeter folding knife. The youth was also operating a modified electric bicycle without a valid license. As a result, the vehicle was administratively impounded, and the minor's parents were fined for failing to provide insurance coverage for the vehicle.
