Palermo school Casa del Fanciullo to resume lessons after repairs

Lessons are set to resume next week at the Casa del Fanciullo elementary school in the Acqua dei Corsari district of Palermo. The reopening follows structural repairs to the building, which had previously been declared unsafe due to deteriorating roofs.

Prior to the repairs, students were relocated to the nearby Castrogiovanni building, necessitating double shifts that caused significant disruption for families and students. Local councilor Pasquale Terrani noted that the final stages of work, including the installation of doors, windows, and fixtures, are expected to be completed this week. The facility includes nine classrooms and four laboratories.
