Palermo schools to resume classes at temporary sites after legionella alarm
Authorities in Palermo have established a temporary plan to resume educational activities for students of the Publio Virgilio Marone – Tomaselli institute, which has been closed for several days due to a legionella alarm.
Following an operational meeting involving the municipal education department, the Palermo ASP Prevention Department, and local school officials, a redistribution plan was finalized. Starting next Tuesday, 36 middle school classes will be hosted at Liceo Meli. Thirteen primary school classes will relocate to the I.C. De Gasperi facilities (specifically the central and Pecoraro complexes). For kindergarten students, temporary placement at the Monti Iblei complex will depend on parental consent.
Mayor Roberto Lagalla expressed appreciation for the solidarity shown by the host school administrators, noting the importance of providing a concrete solution to alleviate the organizational and familial difficulties caused by the prolonged closure.
