Italy legal updates: Acquittals and court rulings in Sicily and Campania

Several legal and criminal developments have been reported in Italy. In Vibo Valentia, judges acquitted former provincial president Salvatore Solano of charges including political-mafia electoral exchange and corruption, citing a lack of evidentiary basis in the ‘Dedalo’ investigation.

In Palermo, a shooting in the Zen 2 district has led investigators to pursue a motive involving a personal or romantic dispute. A 40-year-old man was shot in the head while in his vehicle and remains hospitalized for surgery.

In administrative news, the Consiglio di Giustizia Amministrativa for Sicily has suspended a ruling that would have closed a vehicle inspection center in Agrigento operated by GS, allowing the company to continue its activities.
