Palermo's Sperone district hosts Summer Camp Energy for children

The Summer Camp Energy 2026 program has concluded in the Sperone district of Palermo, providing free educational activities for over 120 children aged 3 to 6. Funded by The Human Safety Net (a Generali Group foundation) and implemented by Fondazione Reggio Children, the initiative aimed to combat school dropout rates and address the lack of early childhood services in peripheral areas.

Using the Reggio Emilia approach, educators led children through explorations of urban sounds, architecture, and materials to create a collective map of their neighborhood. The project involved local schools and associations, such as the Istituto comprensivo Sperone-Pertini and Ecomuseo Mare Memoria Viva, while actively engaging parents to strengthen the local educational community.
