Palestine building permits decline in Q2 2026

According to data from the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, the number of building permits issued in Palestine during the second quarter of 2026 decreased by 1% compared to the first quarter of the same year. However, there was an 11% increase compared to the corresponding quarter in 2025.

A total of 1,814 permits were issued for residential and non-residential buildings, including 1,199 permits for new constructions. The total licensed area amounted to 974,000 square meters. Regarding housing, 4,105 residential units were licensed, covering an area of 678,000 square meters. New residential units saw a 3% increase compared to the previous quarter and a 20% increase compared to the same period in 2025.

Notably, no building permits were issued in the Gaza Strip during this period.
