Palestine industrial production index rises in July 2026
The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics reported a 0.94% increase in the industrial production index for July 2026 compared to June 2026. The index rose to 83.67 from 82.89, based on the 2019 base year.
Key drivers of this growth included a 9.19% increase in electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply activities, which account for 7.38% of total industrial activities. Mining and quarrying also saw a 0.47% rise. Manufacturing activities, representing 87.89% of total industry, grew by 0.13%.
Within manufacturing, notable increases were seen in non-metallic metal products, shaped metal products (excluding machinery), textiles, furniture, leather, and wood products. Conversely, production declined in pharmaceutical products, tobacco, chemical products, and food products. Additionally, water supply, sanitation, and waste management activities decreased by 4.33%.
