Palestine Monetary Authority Governor promotes electronic payments with Beit Fajjar

Yahya Shannar, Governor of the Palestine Monetary Authority, met with a delegation from the Beit Fajjar Municipal Council to discuss enhancing electronic payment systems and local economic resilience. Shannar emphasized the importance of integrating municipalities into electronic payment ecosystems, specifically through the ‘E-SADAD’ platform, to allow citizens to pay municipal fees and obligations digitally.

During the meeting, Shannar highlighted the availability of financial programs, including the ‘Shamsi Palestine’ initiative, which provides funding for municipal solar energy projects. Samih Thawabteh, head of the Beit Fajjar Municipal Council, discussed local challenges such as movement restrictions and the closure of main entrances, requesting increased access to direct banking services to support the town’s population and industrial sector.
