Palestine Solidarity Network calls for expulsion of Israeli ambassador to New Zealand

The Palestine Solidarity Network Aotearoa (PSNA) has called on New Zealand political parties to demand the immediate expulsion of Israeli Ambassador Alon Roth-Snir and to suspend all ties with Israel.

The demand follows recent United Nations reports and the displacement of the family of PSNA national spokesperson Rinad Tamimi. Tamimi reported that her 95-year-old grandfather was among those expelled from his home during recent operations in Hebron, in the Occupied West Bank.

UN Human Rights Chief Volker Turk condemned the actions in the West Bank, stating that more than 3,000 Palestinians have been forced from their homes. Turk described these actions as “punitive in nature and designed to instil fear” and noted that threats to erase neighborhoods raise serious concerns regarding ethnic cleansing.

Additionally, the UN Independent Commission of Palestine and Israel released a report alleging that Israel has committed war crimes and crimes against humanity, including extermination, persecution, and torture, in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.
