Palestinian Ambassador Diab Al-Louh dies in Cairo
Diab Al-Louh, the Palestinian Ambassador to Egypt, has passed away in Cairo at the age of 68. Known by the nickname "Abu Al-Nimer," Al-Louh had a long career in both national activism and formal diplomacy.
A prominent member of the Fatah movement, Al-Louh was previously detained by Israeli forces in 1977 and served a 15-year prison sentence. His diplomatic career included serving as the Palestinian Ambassador to China, Yemen, and Mauritania, as well as the Permanent Representative to the Arab League.
During his tenure in Egypt, which began in November 2017, he played a significant role in coordinating humanitarian aid and managing political files related to the Gaza Strip. He was known for his advocacy regarding Palestinian rights and his emphasis on Egypt's role in supporting the Palestinian cause.
