Palestinian 2026 Secondary School Exam Results Announced

The Palestinian Ministry of Education announced the official results of the 2026 secondary school examinations. The overall pass rate in the West Bank, including Jerusalem and overseas candidates, reached 74%, while the announcement of a final pass rate for Gaza was postponed until after the second examination round due to technical reasons. More than 89,000 students sat for the exams in the West Bank and around 36,900 in Gaza, with over 2,000 candidates taking the test in 46 countries worldwide. The ministry also disclosed that the new secondary‑school system will be delayed to the 2027/2028 academic year and introduced the first electronic religious‑Islamic test in the West Bank. Simultaneously, the ministry warned against online rumours of leaked results, stating that such posts are fraudulent attempts to profit from students’ anxiety. Official result portals and an SMS service were activated, allowing students to query their scores using their registration number and personal details. Despite the challenging conditions in Gaza, students celebrated the results, holding gatherings in camps and temporary shelters, highlighting resilience amid ongoing conflict.
