Abu Wadee removed from UK asylum housing amid deportation efforts

Abu Wadee, a 34-year-old Palestinian migrant also known as Mosab Abdulkarim Al-Gassas, has been removed from taxpayer-funded asylum accommodation in Corby, Northamptonshire. Wadee, who arrived in the UK via a small boat in 2025, previously served a nine-month prison sentence for attempting to enter the country without valid clearance.

Wadee drew significant scrutiny following social media posts in which he advocated for violence against Jewish people and documented his alleged involvement with a militant group known as the Tyre Burning Unit. While he has reportedly stated that he no longer supports Hamas, his presence in a shared housing unit in Corby prompted criticism from local residents and Conservative lawmakers regarding the use of public funds for his housing and subsistence.

The Home Office is understood to be pursuing his removal from the country, though legal complexities regarding returning individuals to active conflict zones have impacted deportation efforts. Wadee was observed leaving the property accompanied by police and housing officials while wearing an electronic ankle tag.
