Palestinian education delegation concludes working visit to Finland

A delegation from the Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education has concluded an official working visit to Finland. Supported by the Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the visit aimed to study Finland’s advanced expertise in media, digital, and critical literacy.

The delegation focused on competency-based curriculum development and the integration of technology in education, specifically within STEM fields. During the visit, representatives met with various Finnish sovereign, academic, and educational institutions, including the University of Helsinki, the Finnish National Agency for Education, and the Viikki teacher training school. Discussions also included specialized organizations focused on fact-checking and combating disinformation.

The delegation highlighted the current challenges facing the Palestinian education sector and discussed national development plans to ensure educational sustainability. The visit concluded with an emphasis on utilizing the lessons learned to strengthen future cooperation and partnerships between the two nations.
