Palestinian factions call for international action amid escalating Israeli attacks
Palestinian political factions are calling for urgent international intervention to halt escalating Israeli military actions in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and Jerusalem. The Palestinian National and Islamic Forces Follow-up Committee condemned ongoing attacks and settlement expansion, warning of displacement plans and violations of international law. The committee urged the United Nations, the International Criminal Court, and the International Court of Justice to fulfill their responsibilities in protecting Palestinian civilians.
In addition to addressing the security situation, the committee highlighted efforts to initiate a comprehensive national dialogue among Palestinian factions to end internal division and implement previous agreements, such as the Beijing consensus.
Separately, the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine condemned recent Israeli strikes in Gaza City that targeted civilians. The group criticized the silence of international mediators and guarantors, including the United States, questioning why there has been no practical action to enforce ceasefire commitments or protect non-combatants amidst catastrophic humanitarian conditions.
