Palestinian female detainees face harsh prison conditions and medical neglect

The Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs has released testimonies detailing harsh and degrading conditions faced by Palestinian female detainees in Israeli prisons. The reports highlight significant psychological and physical impacts, exacerbated by a lack of necessary medical care.

Specific cases include Abeer Odeh, an administrative detainee with multiple pre-existing conditions including esophageal and intestinal issues, who reports receiving inadequate medication and suffering from scabies. Yasmin Shaban is reported to have sustained uterine injuries due to physical assault during her arrest. Additionally, detainees Nadine Al-Daghamin and Shahd Adi have reported severe skin allergies and scabies infections without receiving sufficient medical treatment or ointments.

The Commission also documented repressive measures at Damun Prison on August 17 and 18, which included room searches and the confiscation of personal belongings and clothing.
