Palestinian Government reports on weekly developmental and diplomatic activities

The Palestinian Government Communication Center released a report detailing developmental and reformative interventions conducted between August 16 and August 22, 2026.

Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa met with a delegation from the German Parliament to request international pressure regarding the implementation of the second phase in Gaza, the cessation of Israeli actions and settler attacks, and the release of withheld Palestinian tax revenues. Additionally, the government laid the foundation for the Indian Specialized Hospital in Araba, which will feature approximately 200 beds.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates engaged in diplomatic discussions with officials from New Zealand, India, the European Union, the United Kingdom, and South Africa. These talks focused on the humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip due to border closures and insufficient aid, as well as settler expansion in the West Bank. The Ministry also issued urgent calls for international investigations into the treatment of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons.

In terms of infrastructure, the Palestinian Water Authority, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and funded by the German Foreign Office, implemented water and sanitation projects in Gaza. These interventions, including drilling a well in Deir al-Balah and rehabilitating pumping stations, are expected to benefit approximately 100,000 people.
