Palestinian Islamic Bank archive building receives Gold Green Building certification
The Palestinian Higher Council for Green Building has awarded the Gold Level Green Building certification to the Palestinian Islamic Bank’s central archive building in Nablus. The certification was presented during a ceremony attended by Engineer Tariq Abdul Majeed Al-Zarou, President of the Engineers Association and head of the Council, and Dr. Imad Al-Saadi, General Manager of the Palestinian Islamic Bank.
The 1,325-square-meter facility met rigorous standards for sustainability, energy efficiency, and resource management according to the Palestinian Green Building Guidelines. The building incorporates advanced technologies for energy conservation and generation, including solar energy solutions and recycling systems.
Dr. Al-Saadi stated that this achievement aligns with the bank’s commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards, aiming to reduce the institution’s carbon footprint. Engineer Al-Zarou noted that the project serves as a practical model for implementing green building standards within the Palestinian context to promote more sustainable urban environments.
